Lovely little cafe on the entrance to Ambleside. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. They offer gluten free bread for sandwiches so that’s a bonus as not many places too. Nice portions. Cheese and ham toastie came with a nice salad and crisps. They’re dog friendly too and you have the option of sitting either in or outside. Pay and display parking around the back to the building, just the first left past the cafe

This is my first time visiting Ambleside. We had just gotten a cruise on the lake, and my two friends and I were very hungry. My friend found this place when we were booking activities. As soon as you step in, everyone says hi to you, you get shown to a table. Extra tables added if needed. The staff of the cafe are all friendly and helpful with great customer service. With full table service. They do offer takeout also. The atmosphere of the place was warm and welcoming. With homemade decorations. You get told about the menue, the soup and the quich. They show a lot of pride in their food. Which shows in the quality. The qauility is oustanding! They could probably get away with charging 5x more than what they already charge. It is amazingly cheap for the quality of the food, which is very surprising. I decided to go with the breakfast full english quich, with side salad and beans. Im not a massive fan of colslaw, but this colslaw was so fresh that I actually found myself enjoyi...

I cannot speak highly enough of this business. My car broke down and I had to hitch a ride to the nearest civilisation / phone signal, which I’m so lucky was with the folks at fresher’s cafe. They provided me a phone charger and let me stay past closing while waiting for help to arrive, while making friendly conversation to calm my nerves and providing lovely coffee and cake - their chocolate orange cake (pictured half eaten!) might be the nicest cake I’ve ever had. I didn’t feel like a burden at any point and it was in fact a real silver lining of the whole ordeal. I hope to visit again under better circumstances one day. Thanks again!
